VeraBank Awards Scholarships to Students

Henderson, TX – VeraBank is excited to award five $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school students whose parents are employed at the bank. The recipients of the 2023 scholarships are:
- Grant Ashby – Lufkin High School
- Ryland Carlile – Florence High School
- Tiyah Courville – Cayuga High School
- Riley Lux – Sabine High School
- Aspen Woodall – Sabine High School
“Seniors are our next generation of leaders and VeraBank is honored to support these students as they pursue their goals through higher education,” said Brad Tidwell, VeraBank President and Chief Executive Officer. “We believe it takes a community to raise a family, and we take great interest in helping our youth. Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients, and all the 2023 graduates.”
The VeraBank scholarship program began in 2017 and has since awarded $80,000 in scholarships to 35 recipients. Scholarship recipients, all of whom are children of VeraBank employees, are selected by a committee each year and the identity of each applicant remains anonymous throughout the selection process. Selections are based on the students’ merit, academic performance, content and completeness of replies and application, as well as school and community involvement.
